Reggae Rhythms in the Premier League explores Jamaica’s powerful influence on the world’s most-watched football league—through its players, music, fashion, and fan culture. Featuring exclusive interviews and untold stories, the film shows how Jamaican heritage has shaped the game and global culture, from the pitch to the streets.

Black Arrow FC partnered with the English Premier League to release a new documentary spotlighting the lasting impact of Jamaica on the world’s most-watched football league.  Featuring Leon Bailey (Aston Villa), Raheem Sterling (Arsenal), Reggae Boyz legend Ricardo Gardner, and Cedella Marley — artist, CEO, and daughter of Bob and Rita Marley — this film brings together football and culture’s most iconic voices.

Produced by the Premier League and distributed through its global broadcast partners, the 26-minute documentary aired on NBC Sports in the United States, Sky Sports in the UK.    

This installment of PL Stories explores the powerful and evolving relationship between Jamaican culture and the Premier League—highlighting the players, communities, and cultural moments that have shaped the league both on and off the pitch. Through exclusive interviews and untold stories, the film captures how Jamaican heritage has influenced the game at every level, from grassroots development to global stardom. Featuring current stars, national heroes, and pioneering legends, it showcases the resilience, creativity, and flair that Jamaican players have brought to the league, while reflecting on the island’s enduring impact at a time when the world is rediscovering the depth and significance of Jamaican football.

The film features:

• Current Premier League Stars Leon Bailey (Aston Villa), and Raheem Sterling (Arsenal), including an interview with both Sterling and Bailey together discussing their shared Jamaican heritage and Premier League journeys.

• Ricardo Gardner, a Jamaican National Team icon and member of the historic 1998 Reggae Boyz World Cup squad, who spent 14 seasons with Bolton Wanderers—11 of them in the Premier League.

• Cedella Marley, first-born daughter of Bob and Rita Marley, sharing the powerful story of how her father's love for football and her mother’s resilience inspired her to relaunch Jamaica’s Reggae Girlz, more than a decade after the team had been disbanded.

• Owen Hill, CEO of Professional Football Jamaica, and Ludlow Bernard, Technical Director at Harbour View FC—Ricardo Gardner’s boyhood club—discussing how the Jamaican Premier League continues to develop top-tier talent and uplift communities across the island.

• Neville Stewart, owner of Juss Jerk, a beloved Jamaican restaurant located across from Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium, and Odessa Chambers, cultural commentator and daughter of reggae legend Jimmy Cliff, reflecting on the enduring presence of Jamaican identity in football and fan culture in London.
